About

Hi, I’m Carrie — and I’m so happy you’ve found your way to Easy Brazilian Food! This is where I share my take on beloved Brazilian recipes, inspired by my husband’s family, our two years living in São Paulo, and the flavors that continue to shape my kitchen back home in New Jersey.

Hi, Oi!

Welcome,

Bem Vindos!

A little about my journey

In 2022, my husband’s career took us from New Jersey to São Paulo, Brazil. With our daughters (then 10 and 13) in tow, we embraced the adventure, the culture, and of course — the food. Living abroad wasn’t always easy, but it was transformative. We learned, we grew, and we fell in love with Brazil in ways that will stay with us forever.

In 2024, we moved back to New Jersey, but I carry Brazil with me every single day — in the meals I cook, the memories we share, and the little traditions we’ve brought home. For me, this blog is not just about recipes, it’s about keeping that connection alive and sharing it with you.

What you will find here

On Easy Brazilian Food, you’ll find approachable recipes for every part of the day: breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and even drinks. Sometimes I stay close to tradition, and other times I create easy adaptations that fit busy family life here in the U.S. Either way, everything is inspired by Brazil’s vibrant flavors, ingredients, and culture.

If there is ever a recipe that you want to me publish, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Why Brazilian recipes?

Food has always been my love language. Since 2017, I’ve shared over 400 recipes on my first blog, Talking Meals, and even wrote a cookbook focused on easy dinners for busy families. Along the way, I earned a certification in Nutrition and Healthy Living from Cornell University, so I bring a balance of delicious and thoughtful cooking to the table.

But my heart for Brazilian food runs even deeper. My husband grew up with Brazilian and Portuguese family roots, and I’ve been lucky to enjoy many of his mother’s traditional recipes over the years — like Feijoada and Pão de Queijo. Living in Brazil gave me the chance to not just taste these foods, but to learn their history, traditions, and the joy they bring to gatherings big and small.

Let's connect

Do you have a favorite Brazilian recipe or memory? Or maybe one you’d love to see me make here? I’d love to hear from you! This blog is as much about community and sharing stories as it is about food.

Obrigada for being here — I hope these recipes bring a little Brazilian flavor and joy into your kitchen, wherever you are.
