Black Beans and rice are a staple in Brazil and many other countries.  

This recipe is easy with flavor from onion, garlic, bacon, cilantro, and more.  Make this in a slow cooker or on the stove.

Ingredients:

Dry Black beans (soaked overnight) Cloves Garlic Onion, medium Fresh Cilantro Bacon, raw Vegetable or Beef broth Bay leaf Beef Bouillon Salt and Ground Black Pepper Long grain white rice

Soak the beans in water the night before

Blend the onions, garlic, and cilantro

Into a large pot or slow cooker, add bacon, beans, beef bouillon, puréed mixture, bay leaf, salt and pepper. Cover with enough broth to cover the beans.

Stove: Bring to a boil, stir, then lower to a simmer. Cover and cook 1.5-2 hours.       or Slow Cooker: Set for 8-10 hours, depending on your schedule.
